Serene yet composed, this house is a classic example of how a busy urban site can be transformed into an intimate living space. An inward-looking house with an internal garden the entire living quarters is planned around this landscaped court.

There is an interplay of light and shadow from the skylight of the common area which appears as a constantly changing painting that keeps the living space lively throughout the day. Thus the built is seen flowing around the natural environment blurring the boundaries between the exteriors and the interiors.

Large spans and flamboyant spaces with carefully planned double height volumes enhance the intermingling of the landscape spaces with the built forms creating a pleasurable experience of nature within the built forms.

Ample flow of light and cross ventilation enables one to feel a startling experience along with its surrounding nature and their entangled and timeless interaction.

An age old traditional house has been dismantled in kerala and its wooden parts were brought down to be extensively and cleverly used in ceilings,walls,wooden frames and shutters.Thus the house is a culumination of the old and new with timeless memories etched within its walls.
