A hostel facility for 440 nursing students this building is conceived around 2 large landscaped courtyards with all rooms spilling into this open space. Thus there is a vast visual connect within the building allowing for natural elements of light and rain within the built form. A double height corridor connecting the lower floors creates enough drama with the central courts.
A layout designed to connect the interiors to the outside space, rustic elements are brought into play in the form of clay tile cladding and wire cut lined circular openings in the staircase areas. Overall a subtle material palette is used for the spaces with white being the primary colour and thus the interiors are simple and functional yet modern.
